You may have seen our ads around and had instant jealousy in comparison to your current bag. We get it. That’s why we made them.

Because current gym bags suck. They’re all the same. They’re not intentional. Your gear gets lost in the messy middle and you end up digging around in your bag for the stuff you need, if it’s even there at all.

Here’s a run down of how we made the best gym bag ever.

Compartments / dividers

‍

The biggest, easiest thing to tackle. Gym bags are black holes that eat more gear than a washing machine. Our divider system gives you quick access to all your gym essentials and workout gear.

This all started when I couldn’t find my headphones and pulled all my gear out of my bag, flipped it upside down, then removed the bottom liner to discover they slipped under there. Stupid, but a catalyst to build a better bag.

This begged the question: “why aren’t there dividers in gym bags?” We found out why these aren’t manufactured, but that’s a story for another time.

So we added dividers to create separate sections with plenty of room. And let me tell you. It’s everything you want it to be.

There are a couple larger compartments, and then a few smaller compartments. Dream about your gear in here.

We patented the design, because, we’re just some little guys, and this is the only IP we have. An experienced could come along, send this to their factory, and rip it off. Also, we’ll sell on Amazon eventually (because you have to, it’s 2021, we’re not going to argue about this) and Amazon is known for ripping designs off. It will probably still happen. Whatever, I digress.

Shoe Garage™️

If the magical school bus had a garage this would be it. It’s everything you want and fixes every issue with terrible shoe storage in a traditional gym bag.

We created a separate shoe compartment box around your shoes so you can slide them in and out with ease. (Up to mens size 14 on the large duffle)

We added a vent on the door so when you do easily slide your pair of shoes in there post workout, they won’t completely ruin your bag with that post workout stench.

Then we created what we call The Apartment™️ (no, it’s not trademarked, this is a joke) so you can store small things on top of the shoe garage. Genius? Yes. Genius. I know. We’re geniuses. It’s uncanny that three dudes from outside the manufacturing industry fixed all of these simple things.

Structure

‍

We hated how our gym bags flop.

‍

The floppyness makes it difficult to see your gear and find your gear. When you flip the lid open and look around, half the battle is thwapping at the sides of your bag or the lid to get out of the way so you can even start looking for the gear that you hope is inside your bag.

So we fixed the floppy gym bag. We put structure in the walls of the bag. No more flop.

Airflow

Your gym bag is generally filled with a bunch of smelly stuff. The average duffle bag is a piece of garbage for so many reasons. One of those reasons, is that it smells like garbage.

We added ventilation on both sides of the bag so air can flow through it.

I already mentioned above that we added airflow to the shoe garage so your smelly shoes won’t ruin your bag.

We also included a side mesh pocket for particularly sweaty things, or a second/third pair of shoes.

We chose these things because they are some of the highest quality and functionality to use for a duffel bag. In the pursuit of the most organized gym bag we wanted to elevate the bag to a functional piece of gear.

I’ve been testing my current model for over a year and it looks brand new.

No one likes a crappy zipper. We’ve been back and forth with our factory selecting just the right one. It’s metal, it zips great. It won’t break. We added pull tabs, they’re expensive. You’re welcome.

The shoulder strap is awesome. We made the shoulder pad movable, and the whole thing is resizable to sling around your back or hang from your shoulder. Also, the shoulder strap hook weighs around a quarter pound. It’s hefty, and strong, and expensive. Literally the most expensive part per capita.

I bring up price often because there are some major name gym duffel bags that are manufactured for literally, I kid you not, $4 per bag then resold to you for $60+. Our shoulder strap hooks cost $1.60 each on their own.

Our magnetic carry handles work significantly better than velcro. We’ve had people on social film them specifically because of how much they love the ease of use.

There are two molle style webbing hooks on both the front and the back of the bag that you can clip carabiners, hats, or strap your gymnastic grips to.

The mesh bag on one end is strong. I typically store my knee sleeves in there so they can air out in between workouts, and occasionally use it for my metcons. It adapts and stretches well to multiple use cases.

Everything. I cut my teeth in bodybuilding style training, then moved on to CrossFit and continue to practice while integrating running, hikes, bicycling of all kinds, and general fitness focused activities. The Haven Duffel works for them all.
